Hi, Kala here! I grew up in a little town in Northern California and have lived in San Diego for over 20 years. If I'm not in San Diego I'm most likely off traveling somewhere, as it is my favorite hobby. I have a great love for nature, animals and connecting with people. I graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2013 with an HHP license. I have been a practicing massage therapist for over 10 years, and practice many modalities that vary. I approach each session with every body's unique and specific needs at the forefront. It is the utmost importance to create a warm, nurturing and safe space for any and all. My passion in the work that I do is to relieve pain, enhance flexibility and range of motion, give complete mind and body relaxation, nourish and provide the most optimal care for my clientele. I use my intuition and observe how the body responds to guide me through each session. You are quite literally in the best hands when you are with me. My experience, knowledge and love for this field truly sets me apart in what I have to bring to the table for you! Feel free to give me a call or send a text or email if you have any questions or would like to book your next appointment. I look forward to working with you!
What To Expect...
Deep Tissue/Deeper work:
I've often heard "you're a lot stronger than you look". And while I would agree I can definitely go the distance in strength, that is not always needed. But trust me if strength is what you need, we can take that journey together. If you're looking for deeper work I will warm the tissue enough to where you are feeling safe and relaxed. Then incorporating deeper work gradually and intuitively from there. At times there may be some feelings of pain (the good pain) but the reward is always worth it! I ALWAYS make sure to make nice with those deeper worked muscles, because they deserve to be treated nicely too;).
Swedish/Relaxation:
This is where I keep my strokes, movement and modalities very fluid and pretty even as far as pressure. It's typically light to medium pressure, but again it depends on the person. My goal is to guide your stress and tension to fall away from the mind and body to create a blissful, calming and nurturing experience. This is truly for the mind, body and soul.
Combination/Deeper work & relaxation:
If you're looking for a little of both, "you want it to do the job but you want to enjoy it as well". I completely understand that! I personally love practicing this hodgepodge of techniques and modalities the most. It's almost like I get to trick the brain into thinking we're only doing one or the other, and without really feeling the transitions (because they're gradual) you're either feeling the intensity of the deeper work then straight into the relaxation melt, or vise versa. This style will still keep you awake while also letting you drift a little, but not ever missing a moment.
